Reason to visit: The beautiful city offers the perfect setting for a nice walk in the midst of interesting historical buildings.
Attractions: You should visit the impressive neo-gothic cathedral "Parroquia de San Juan Bautista". The cathedral was built from volcanic stone and with its 60 meter high tower it is the tallest church on the Canary Islands. Other attractions include the historic buildings of the old town hall and the "Heredad de Aguas de Arucas y Firgas". The beautiful city park "Jardín de las Hesperides" is also worth a visit.
Anything else?: Arucas is also known as the "city of rum".
